‍‍From July 15 to July 17, the 25th annual academic meeting of China Association of Medical Equipment was held in Guiyang, Guizhou. Hou Yan, Director of Planning and Information Department of National Health and Family Planning Commission introduced at the meeting that, “the thirteenth five-year program” large medical equipment configuration planning is being compiled, the central, local health and family planning administrative departments will have work division, and large medical equipment configuration of all medical institutions are uniformly planned, approved and supervised. 

Hou Yan introduced that, at present, the competition among medical institutions on configuring high-end equipment is preliminarily inhibited; the proportion of large equipment configured in social hospital institution grows rapidly; the total growth of inspection treatment fee in medical institution is slow, however, the proportion of relevant inspection fee in time average outpatient and inpatient fee is increased. In addition, the development of new technology, new equipment of medical device is very fast, however, the configuration management is relatively lagged, the planning guide and medical quality safety guarantee shall be strengthened.

During the “thirteenth five-year program”, the main idea of configuration of large medical equipment is focusing on optimizing resource configuration and controlling irrational growth of medical fee, generally planning configuration of large medical equipment, improving resource configuration efficiency; guiding medical institution to rationally configure function applicable, technology appropriate, energy saving and environmental equipment, supporting to establish regional medical imaging center, promoting resource share, encouraging to give priority to considering domestic equipment; establishing and improving supervision assessment mechanism, giving full play to the function of social group, strengthening industrial self-discipline and mutual supervision.

Zhao Zilin, President of China Association of Medical Equipment, introduced that, it is expected that the market scale of medical equipment industry in China will breakthrough RMB 800 billion in 2020. To innovate medical equipment, the innovation platform that merges production, learning, research, medicine must be built, and the industry will work as the bridge to connect the platform.
